Gâtu Berbecului and Negovanu Barrier Lake

Negovanu Lake was built with the dam, in 1965, along the upper course of the Sadu river, and it has a surface of 72 hectares. The water accumulated in the barrage is used by the Sadu V hydropower station to generate power. The “Gatul Berbecului” Dam offers impressive views of this area, being considered the only arched dam in Romania, at an altitude of 1,158 metres.
