Hike in Râu Sadului with Traditional Meal at the Sheepfold

Dear hikers,

We invite you to a unique experience in the Râu Sadului area, ending with a traditional meal hosted by the Stancu family in Fundu Râului.

We will set off at a lively pace on a circular hike, following the route: Râu Sadului – Apa Cumpănită Saddle – Fundu Râului. We’ll enjoy stunning views of the Lotrului and Făgăraș Mountains, pass by the shepherds’ huts scattered along the ridge, and, in Fundu Râului, we’ll be served a traditional meal featuring pork dishes, cheeses, bulz ciobănesc (shepherd’s polenta) cooked over the fire, and warm drinks.

Costs:

50 lei/adult or child over 14 years old, free for children between 8 and 14 years old. In addition to the hiking fee, the meal service at the end will cost 50 lei/person. These amounts will be paid in cash at the start of the hike.

By participating in this event, I consent to being photographed. I acknowledge that the photos may be used for promotional purposes, both online and in printed materials, within the “Anii Drumeției” Program to promote it. I declare under my own responsibility that, to the best of my knowledge, I am physically capable of sustained physical effort during hiking events without jeopardizing my health in any way. My participation in this event is entirely voluntary, understanding the associated risks to which I expose myself.

The “Anii Drumeției” Program is initiated and funded by the Sibiu County Council in collaboration with the Sibiu County Tourism Association. Its main purpose is to improve hiking infrastructure in the county and promote activities specific to ecotourism.
