Dear hikers,
We will enter from the northern side of Sebeșu de Sus village into the Moașa Valley and, after about 3.5 km, we will park on the riverbank. After another approx. 3 km along the valley, during which we will cross the river several times, we will begin a steep ascent in switchbacks, following the red dot marking eastward toward Suru Cabin. Once there, we will take a well-deserved break for lunch and to enjoy the crocuses growing around the cabin. With those who want a bit more exercise, we will continue for about one more hour up to the Mountain Rescuers’ Monument. The others, who prefer to enjoy the sun and the flowers, will wait for us at the cabin. After we return, we will head north, following the red triangle marking, descending along Moașa Ridge, and we will return to the cars in Moașa Valley on an unmarked trail.
The hike is suitable ONLY for people with medium or good physical fitness and for children aged at least 10 who have mountain experience.
WHERE AND WHEN DO WE MEET?
We meet on Monday, 13.04.2026, at 8:00, in the parking lot of the DECATHLON store, in Shopping City Șelimbăr.
From there we will travel by personal cars on the route: Sibiu – Sebeșu de Sus, where we will park the cars about 3.5 km from the exit of the village, in Moașa Valley.
ROUTE INFORMATION
Distance: 7 km / 9 km (with the detour to the Mountain Rescuers’ Monument)
Elevation gain: 1000 m
Trail difficulty: medium
Hiking duration: approximately 8–9 hours (with a 2–3 hour break at Suru Cabin).
REQUIRED EQUIPMENT
High hiking boots with good grip, as waterproof as possible;
Clothing suitable for the season, including a final waterproof layer; spare T-shirt or base layer;
Small daypack, bottle with hot tea / water, minimum 1 l, sunglasses;
Snack for breaks along the route.
Trekking poles and gaiters should not be missing.
TRANSPORTATION
We can provide round-trip transportation for a limited number of people. To reserve a seat, please contact us by phone at 0722-177001 after completing the registration.
After the registration process is completed, the guide will create a WhatsApp group where we will organize and redistribute participants among the cars of those coming by car. Transportation costs will be shared jointly by the occupants of each respective car.
COSTS
80 RON for adults, 40 RON for students over 10 years old and university students.
The hike will take place with a minimum of 10 adult participants.
Children aged 10 and above may participate, provided they have mountain hiking experience and are each accompanied by an adult (parents are responsible for assessing the difficulty of the route for their children).

– The route configuration and length will be adjusted according to weather conditions and the homogeneity/heterogeneity of the group.
– The organizer (guide) reserves the right to refuse participants who are not appropriately equipped or who have inadequate physical condition.
– Tours are conducted under safe conditions and with a minimum number of participants. The organizer reserves the right to reschedule or cancel tours without prior notice if these conditions are not met.
– Ticket refunds are only provided in case the organizer (guide) cancels the hike.
