Dear Hikers,
Our easy fall hike will start in the village of Jina, where we will arrive by personal cars. We’ll meet in the morning at 9:30 AM in the Kaufland parking lot, at the exit towards Mediaș (near the highway). After a short presentation of the day’s program, we will drive towards Jina, taking the highway to Săliște and then heading to Poiana Sibiului – Jina. At the exit of Jina, where the paved road begins to descend towards Transalpina, we will park our cars and begin our hike on a country road.
We’ll walk along the country road that follows the mountain ridge called Creasta Porumbelului, offering impressive views of the Cindrel Mountains to the south, the Șureanu Mountains to the west, and Mărginimea Sibiului to the east. The road doesn’t have long or difficult climbs, keeping us at roughly the same altitude most of the time.
This makes the trail easy and suitable for all participants!
During the hike, we’ll talk about the pastoral traditions of the locals from Jina and Poiana Sibiului, who have huts and grazing areas in this highland region of Mărginimea Sibiului. We’ll also discuss the nearby protected area, the Natura 2000 Frumoasa site, which safeguards rare forest bird species, forest habitats, mountain meadows, and various animals, including large carnivores.
We’ll try to walk as far as possible along Creasta Porumbelului, considering the physical abilities of all participants.
The breathtaking landscapes throughout the trail make this a must-do hike!

Distance: 10-12 km
Elevation gain: under 100 meters
Trail difficulty: very easy
Hiking duration: approximately 3-4 hours.

This is a very easy hike, suitable for people of all ages, including children aged 6 and up.
REQUIRED EQUIPMENT
Water/tea bottle, at least 1 liter;
A snack for a break halfway through the hike;
Hat and sunscreen;
Binoculars of any size are welcome!
COSTS
70 lei/adult participant
20 lei for children/youth aged 6 to 18
The hike will proceed with a minimum of 10 paying adult participants!
Children must be accompanied by an adult.

– The organizer (guide) reserves the right to refuse participants who are not appropriately equipped or who have inadequate physical condition.
– Tours are conducted under safe conditions and with a minimum number of participants. The organizer reserves the right to reschedule or cancel tours without prior notice if these conditions are not met.
– Ticket refunds are only provided in case the organizer (guide) cancels the hike.

The “Anii Drumeției” Program is initiated and funded by the Sibiu County Council in collaboration with the Sibiu County Tourism Association. Its main purpose is to improve hiking infrastructure in the county and promote activities specific to ecotourism.
