Dear hikers,
Hike on Via Transilvanica, from Mediaș to Bazna, with a stop in the pantry of a local from Bazna.
On Sunday, February 23rd, we set off from Mediaș on Via Transilvanica and head gently towards Bazna, where we will delight both our taste buds and our sight.
The hike is an easy one, with just a single uphill section and about 7 km through the forest.
From the forest, we will go straight to our meal at the local gastronomic point Bassen Pension, where we will taste this year’s zacusca, warm up with a local soup, and enjoy a delicious dessert.
We will also descend into the pantry, where we can take photos and, more importantly, purchase anything that catches our eye—essentially, moving items from their pantry to ours. (Did someone say Bazna sausages?)
A short post-meal walk is also planned, taking us through Bazna – Bai, enriched with some local legends (or facts?).

10:00 AM, at the Via Transilvanica milestone in George Enescu Square / entrance to St. Margaret’s Church

COSTS
Hike price: 170 lei/person (includes guide, soup + dessert, return transport to Mediaș)
Children (15 – 18 years): 120 lei/person (includes guide, soup + dessert, return transport to Mediaș)

The hike will take place with a minimum of 10 participants.

– The route configuration and length will be adjusted according to weather conditions and the homogeneity/heterogeneity of the group.
– The organizer (guide) reserves the right to refuse participants who are not appropriately equipped or who have inadequate physical condition.
– Tours are conducted under safe conditions and with a minimum number of participants. The organizer reserves the right to reschedule or cancel tours without prior notice if these conditions are not met.
– Ticket refunds are only provided in case the organizer (guide) cancels the hike.

The “Anii Drumeției” Program is initiated and funded by the Sibiu County Council in collaboration with the Sibiu County Tourism Association. Its main purpose is to improve hiking infrastructure in the county and promote activities specific to ecotourism.
