Dear hikers,
We are taking advantage of the warm autumn days and invite you on an early autumn hike on one of the most beautiful trails in the Făgăraș Mountains, to Negoiu Chalet with an overnight stay, and continuing the next day towards Negoiu Peak through Cleopatra Saddle. After returning from the peak, we regroup at the chalet and head back together to the cars.
WHERE AND WHEN DO WE MEET?
Departure will take place on Friday, 12.09, at 16:00, from the Hervis store (Promenada Mall).
ROUTE INFORMATION
The hike will be composed of 2 parts:
1️ First part: We will start from the Stone Quarry, on the Porumbacu Valley, and climb towards the final destination, Negoiu Chalet. Once there, we will catch our breath, have dinner, and enjoy the beauty of the sunset and a mountain evening, in the middle of nature.
2️ Second part: The more experienced among us will venture the next day towards Negoiu Peak, the second highest peak in our country.
As for the trail, the first part up to the chalet is easy to moderate, also suitable for families with children. Those who only join for the first part of the hike, up to the chalet, will wait there until the return from the peak.
The second part, the ascent from the chalet to the peak, is a difficult, vertical-type trail, suitable for people who, besides mountain hiking on technical terrain, also do 2–3 weekly physical activities of the cardio type (only this category is recommended to join the second day). The hike takes place at high altitude, where the weather is very unpredictable.
If you are not sure where you fit in, consult the guide.
