Dear hiker,
There are weekends that pass… and there are weekends that stay in your soul forever.
We invite you to experience two days together in which we will not only conquer Negoiu Peak (2,535 m), but also gather moments that we will carry with us for a long time: a sunset reflected on the ridges of the Făgăraș Mountains, a night under thousands of stars, stories at Cabana Negoiu and the joy of being, for a while, far from everything, together with a wonderful group.
On the first day, we will start from Bâlea Lac, following the route through Șaua Caprei, Lăița Peak, Lăițel Peak, Călțun Lake and Strunga Doamnei up to the imposing Negoiu Peak, the second highest peak in Romania. We will take our lunch break at Călțun Lake, and in the evening we will retreat to Cabana Negoiu, where we will have dinner and end the day with a stargazing session, discovering the constellations and the beauty of the mountain sky.
On the second day, we will greet the sunrise with a short yoga session – “Sun Salutation”, and then we will descend towards Povestea Calendarului. For those who want an extra challenge, the ascent to Șerbota Peak is optional.
WHERE AND WHEN DO WE MEET?
Saturday, 25.07.2026, at 07:30, in the Kaufland Șelimbăr parking lot.
From here, we will leave by personal cars towards Bâlea Lac, and around 09:00 we will start the hike.
ROUTE INFORMATION
Day 1
Route: Bâlea Lac – Șaua Caprei – Lăița Peak – Lăițel Peak – Călțun Lake – Strunga Doamnei – Negoiu Peak – Cabana Negoiu
- Distance: 18 km
- Elevation gain/loss: +900 m / -950 m
- Route difficulty: medium – difficult
- Hiking duration: 8–9 hours
- Experience duration: approximately 10–10.5 hours
Day 2
Route: Cabana Negoiu – (optional) Șerbota Peak – Marble Quarry – Povestea Calendarului
Option without Șerbota Peak
- Distance: approximately 15 km
- Elevation loss: -700 m
- Hiking duration: 5–6 hours
Option with Șerbota Peak (optional)
- Distance: approximately 22 km
- Elevation gain/loss: +780 m / -1,500 m
- Hiking duration: 8–10 hours
- Difficulty: medium+
The hike is recommended for people with good physical fitness and experience on mountain trails.
REQUIRED EQUIPMENT
Mountain boots, day backpack, clothes suitable for changeable weather, fleece or warm jacket for the evening, waterproof jacket or rain poncho, headlamp or flashlight, trekking poles (recommended), minimum 2 litres of water, sandwiches and snacks, cap, hat or buff, sunglasses, sunscreen, electrolytes, magnesium and calcium, whistle, spare T-shirts and socks, as well as spare clothes and hygiene items for the hut.
COSTS
- 160 lei/adult – guiding for the two days.
- 90 lei/minor – guiding for the two days.
- 135 lei/person – accommodation at Cabana Negoiu.
- 60 lei/person – breakfast at Cabana Negoiu (optional).
Transportation by personal cars, as well as meals (lunch and dinner, and breakfast if chosen) are not included and are paid individually.
The minimum age for participation is 12 years.
Only 25 accommodation places are available at Cabana Negoiu, and some of them are already reserved. We recommend booking your place in advance.

Note:
– The route configuration and length will be adjusted according to weather conditions and the homogeneity/heterogeneity of the group.
– The organizer (guide) reserves the right to refuse participants who are not appropriately equipped or who have inadequate physical condition.
– Tours are conducted under safe conditions and with a minimum number of participants. The organizer reserves the right to reschedule or cancel tours without prior notice if these conditions are not met.
– Ticket refunds are only provided in case the organizer (guide) cancels the hike.
