Dear hikers,
We invite you to a holiday hike dedicated to children and families, a perfect opportunity to spend time together in nature and discover the beauty of Mărginimea Sibiului.
We will start from Gura Râului, following green trails that climb gently over the village hills towards a picturesque place with spectacular views of the Cindrel and Lotru Mountains. After an accessible climb, we will stop for approximately 20–30 minutes to rest, hydrate and have a snack. We will enjoy the tranquillity of nature, the fresh air and the panorama opening up before us, before setting off on the return journey.
The hike is suitable for families and children who wish to discover the joy of mountain hiking alongside their parents.
WHERE AND WHEN DO WE MEET?
We meet at 09:30, in Gura Râului.
The remaining details regarding the exact meeting point will be provided in the participants’ WhatsApp group.
ROUTE INFORMATION
Distance: 7 km
Elevation gain: +350 m
Route difficulty: easy
Hiking duration: approximately 3–3.5 hours
REQUIRED EQUIPMENT
- Hiking boots with good grip;
- Clothing adapted to the season, including a waterproof layer;
- Small day backpack (approx. 20 l);
- Spare T-shirt or base layer;
- Cap or hat;
- Sunglasses;
- Water bottle (minimum 1–1.5 l);
- A sandwich, an energy bar or a piece of fruit.
Recommended:
- Trekking poles.
TRANSPORTATION
After the registration process is completed, the guide will create a WhatsApp group where participants can organise themselves and redistribute among the cars of those travelling by personal vehicle. Transportation costs will be shared among the occupants of each car.
COSTS
60 lei/adult
30 lei/child (up to 15 years old, accompanied by a parent).
The hike will take place with a minimum of 6 adult participants.
Children aged between 5 and 14 may participate only if accompanied by an adult. Parents are responsible for assessing the difficulty of the route in relation to their children’s level of preparation.

– The route configuration and length will be adjusted according to weather conditions and the homogeneity/heterogeneity of the group.
– The organizer (guide) reserves the right to refuse participants who are not appropriately equipped or who have inadequate physical condition.
– Tours are conducted under safe conditions and with a minimum number of participants. The organizer reserves the right to reschedule or cancel tours without prior notice if these conditions are not met.
– Ticket refunds are only provided in case the organizer (guide) cancels the hike.

The “Anii Drumeției” Program is initiated and funded by the Sibiu County Council in collaboration with the Sibiu County Tourism Association. Its main purpose is to improve hiking infrastructure in the county and promote activities specific to ecotourism.
