Dear hikers,
We will start from the Kaufland Calea Șurii Mari parking lot and head towards Bassen Pension in Bazna, which hosts the Artists’ Camp during the week of 1–7 June. From 10:00 to 12:00, we will take part in one of the four workshops organized in the camp (painting, sculpture, wool and knots or fashion design), then we will set off on a hike along the Via Transilvanica route, through a very bright forest, full of wild garlic, crossed by some splendid trails. We will complete the route as a circuit so that we return to Bassen Pension, where those who wish can stay for lunch (it is each person’s choice whether to do so or not) and for the exhibition opening, where admission is free.
The hike is suitable for everyone, with or without hiking experience, who has a minimum level of physical fitness.
WHERE AND WHEN DO WE MEET?
We meet at 8:30, in the Kaufland parking lot on Calea Șurii Mari.
From there, we will travel by personal cars on the route: Sibiu – Bazna.
ROUTE INFORMATION
Distance: 8 km
Elevation gain: 250 m
Route difficulty: low
Hiking duration: approximately 2.5–3 hours.
REQUIRED EQUIPMENT
Hiking shoes or boots, with good grip;
Clothing adapted to the season: technical T-shirt, hiking trousers and a waterproof outer layer; it would not hurt to have a spare T-shirt with you;
Small day backpack, water bottle, minimum 1–1.5 l
A small snack for the break on the route, possibly a fruit or an energy bar.
TRANSPORTATION
We can provide round-trip transportation for a limited number of people. To reserve your place, please contact us by phone at 0722-177001, after completing the registration.
After the registration process is completed, the guide will create a WhatsApp group where we will organize / redistribute ourselves in the cars of those coming by car. Their transportation costs will be covered jointly by the occupants of that car.
COSTS
Hike: 70 lei/adult, 40 lei/pupil or student, free for children under 8 years old.
Participation in the workshop (mandatory): 30 lei/adult or 60 lei/family (2 adults and 1–2 children)
Lunch (optional): depending on the host’s availability and the price, you will decide there whether you wish to stay for lunch.
Visiting the exhibition with the creations of the artists from that week: free, admission is open.
The tour will take place with a minimum of 10 paying participants.
Children aged 5 and over may participate, provided that each of them is accompanied by an adult (parents are responsible for assessing the difficulty of the route for children).

– The route configuration and length will be adjusted according to weather conditions and the homogeneity/heterogeneity of the group.
– The organizer (guide) reserves the right to refuse participants who are not appropriately equipped or who have inadequate physical condition.
– Tours are conducted under safe conditions and with a minimum number of participants. The organizer reserves the right to reschedule or cancel tours without prior notice if these conditions are not met.
– Ticket refunds are only provided in case the organizer (guide) cancels the hike.

The “Anii Drumeției” Program is initiated and funded by the Sibiu County Council in collaboration with the Sibiu County Tourism Association. Its main purpose is to improve hiking infrastructure in the county and promote activities specific to ecotourism.
