Dear hikers,
We invite you to a hike on the Northern Ridge of Piscul Bâlea, a spectacular route in the Făgăraș Mountains, dedicated to those who want an authentic mountain experience, with sections of easy climbing and impressive panoramas over the main ridge.
The route is recommended for people with mountain experience and good physical fitness, and along the way we will use technical equipment in the areas where it is required.
WHERE AND WHEN DO WE MEET?
Saturday, 15 August 2026
We meet at 09:00, in the HERVIS parking lot – Shopping City Șelimbăr, Sibiu, from where we will travel by personal cars towards the starting point of the route.
ROUTE INFORMATION
Route: Northern Ridge of Piscul Bâlea
Route difficulty: difficult
Experience duration: approximately 8–10 hours.
REQUIRED EQUIPMENT
- Climbing harness;
- Screwgate carabiner (HMS);
- Sling of 80–120 cm.
Participants who do not have this equipment will receive it from the organiser.
- Climbing or bike helmet;
- Headlamp;
- Waterproof mountain boots;
- Clothing adapted to the season, in several layers;
- Thermal layer;
- Buff and gloves;
- Spare T-shirt and socks;
- Bottle with water or tea (minimum 1 litre);
- Food and fruit.
Recommended:
- Sunglasses;
- Bike gloves.
COSTS
120 lei/person – includes guiding and instruction.

Note:
– The route configuration and length will be adjusted according to weather conditions and the homogeneity/heterogeneity of the group.
– The organizer (guide) reserves the right to refuse participants who are not appropriately equipped or who have inadequate physical condition.
– Tours are conducted under safe conditions and with a minimum number of participants. The organizer reserves the right to reschedule or cancel tours without prior notice if these conditions are not met.
– Ticket refunds are only provided in case the organizer (guide) cancels the hike.

I acknowledge that the photos may be used for promotional purposes, both online and in printed materials, within the “Anii Drumeției” Program to promote it. I declare under my own responsibility that, to the best of my knowledge, I am physically capable of sustained physical effort during hiking events without jeopardizing my health in any way. My participation in this event is entirely voluntary, understanding the associated risks to which I expose myself.

The “Anii Drumeției” Program is initiated and funded by the Sibiu County Council in collaboration with the Sibiu County Tourism Association. Its main purpose is to improve hiking infrastructure in the county and promote activities specific to ecotourism.
