Dear hikers,
Sunday, 21 June, we invite you to discover one of the most spectacular areas in Sibiu County: the mounds of Movile!
We will go to the Hârtibaciu Valley where, in a secluded spot, we will enjoy a landscape that seems taken from legends. The village is called Hundertbuchlen in German (One hundred mounds) and it really seems to have 100 small hills scattered across the meadow east of the settlement. We will walk through a protected area (Site of Community Importance — SCI) and enjoy – and photograph – as many of the flowers we come across as possible. If we are lucky, we may also meet a few roe deer.
After the hike, we will stop for a while at the fortified church, to discover its history and take photos from the tower!

Meeting in Movile, Iacobeni commune: 9:30, next to the fortified church
Meeting in Mediaș: 8:00, in the Mediaș Train Station parking lot

COSTS
90 lei/person – the price includes guiding and entrance to the fortified church
30 lei/teenager (15–18 years old)
Children up to 14 years old participate free of charge.
The hike takes place with a minimum of 8 people and a maximum of 16 people.
TRANSPORTATION
Transportation is the responsibility of each participant and is arranged individually.
Those coming from the Mediaș area can contact the organizers to discuss transportation on the route Mediaș – Movile and back.
Also, those from Sibiu who do not have transportation are asked to contact the organizers

Note:
– The route configuration and length will be adjusted according to weather conditions and the homogeneity/heterogeneity of the group.
– The organizer (guide) reserves the right to refuse participants who are not appropriately equipped or who have inadequate physical condition.
– Tours are conducted under safe conditions and with a minimum number of participants. The organizer reserves the right to reschedule or cancel tours without prior notice if these conditions are not met.
– Ticket refunds are only provided in case the organizer (guide) cancels the hike.

The “Anii Drumeției” Program is initiated and funded by the Sibiu County Council in collaboration with the Sibiu County Tourism Association. Its main purpose is to improve hiking infrastructure in the county and promote activities specific to ecotourism.
