Dear hikers,
We will start from Râul Mic, a bit above the Cheile Cibinului Tourist Complex, located past the tail of the Gura Râului reservoir. We begin with a steady ascent to the right, toward Valea Orlatului (marked with a red dot), which we will cross about 4 km from our starting point. After a short climb of about 30 more minutes, we reach the site where the former Fântânele Cabin once welcomed its guests for many years. We’ll take a short snack break here before continuing southwest toward Dealul Runcuri, following the red cross trail marker.
We’ll continue on the red cross trail past Fântâna Neagră all the way to Piscul Vulturului. From there, we descend along a few steep switchbacks back into Valea Râului Mic, where we’ll return to our parking spot.
This hike is suitable for individuals with at least moderate physical fitness and for children aged 10 and up.
WHERE AND WHEN DO WE MEET?
We meet in the morning at 9:00 AM, in the METRO store parking lot.
From there, we’ll travel by personal car on the route: Sibiu – Gura Râului – Cheile Cibinului Tourist Complex, where we’ll park and where the hike will end.

REQUIRED EQUIPMENT
High hiking boots with grippy soles; cramponed soles are recommended for better traction.
Season-appropriate clothing, including a waterproof outer layer; spare base layer or shirt.
Small hiking backpack; sunglasses; bottle with warm tea/water, at least 1 liter.
Snack for the mid-hike break.
Trekking poles can be very helpful.
TRANSPORTATION
We can provide round-trip transport for a limited number of participants.

Once registration is complete, the guide will create a WhatsApp group for coordination and carpooling. Transportation costs will be shared among the car’s occupants, by agreement with the driver.
COSTS
80 RON/adult, 20 RON/child (ages 10–14), 50 RON/student or high-schooler over 14 years old.
The hike will take place with a minimum of 12 adult participants.
Children aged 10 and up may participate, provided each is accompanied by an adult. Parents are responsible for evaluating the trail’s difficulty for their children.

– The route configuration and length will be adjusted according to weather conditions and the homogeneity/heterogeneity of the group.
– The organizer (guide) reserves the right to refuse participants who are not appropriately equipped or who have inadequate physical condition.
– Tours are conducted under safe conditions and with a minimum number of participants. The organizer reserves the right to reschedule or cancel tours without prior notice if these conditions are not met.
– Ticket refunds are only provided in case the organizer (guide) cancels the hike.
