Dear hiker,
We invite you to an easy hike, suitable for the whole family, starting from the Village Museum in Tălmăcel towards Valea Lungșoarei, along trails shaded by pine trees, among huts and fairytale landscapes, with spectacular panoramas over the Făgăraș, Cindrel and Lotru Mountains, as well as the surrounding villages and hills.
The experience ends in the authentic atmosphere of the Pie Festival in Tălmăcel, where we will enjoy traditional dishes and the hospitality of the locals.
WHERE AND WHEN DO WE MEET?
Sunday, 16 August 2026
Departure will take place at 08:30, from the Kaufland Șelimbăr parking lot, near Sibiu Shopping City. We will group ourselves in personal cars and set off towards the Village Museum in Tălmăcel.
ROUTE INFORMATION
Distance: 6–10 km (the route can be adjusted depending on the group’s preferences)
Elevation gain: approximately 300 m
Route difficulty: easy
Hiking duration: approximately 3–4 hours
Experience duration: approximately 5–6 hours
From 14:00, the Rotaru family will be expecting us for lunch, and the Pie Festival begins at 15:00.
REQUIRED EQUIPMENT
Spare T-shirt, trousers and socks, hiking boots, rain poncho, trekking poles (recommended), cap or sun hat, sunscreen, insect repellent spray, whistle, water bottle (minimum 1.5 litres), snacks for the route.
COSTS
80 lei/adult – participation in the hike.
40 lei/child.
Our group benefits from a special offer prepared by the Rotaru family as part of the Pie Festival:
Lunch is offered on a donation basis, with a suggested contribution of approximately 50–60 lei/adult and 30 lei/child.
Optionally, we will also be able to visit the Village Museum in Tălmăcel, on a donation basis.
Those who wish are, of course, invited to stay for the entire Pie Festival programme, together with the Rotaru family and Mariana Iulia Filimon, our welcoming hosts.
Note: Through this experience, we aim to support the local community and contribute to preserving and promoting the authentic traditions of Tălmăcel.
Transportation and food and drinks will be paid separately and individually.

– The route configuration and length will be adjusted according to weather conditions and the homogeneity/heterogeneity of the group.
– The organizer (guide) reserves the right to refuse participants who are not appropriately equipped or who have inadequate physical condition.
– Tours are conducted under safe conditions and with a minimum number of participants. The organizer reserves the right to reschedule or cancel tours without prior notice if these conditions are not met.
– Ticket refunds are only provided in case the organizer (guide) cancels the hike.

The “Anii Drumeției” Program is initiated and funded by the Sibiu County Council in collaboration with the Sibiu County Tourism Association. Its main purpose is to improve hiking infrastructure in the county and promote activities specific to ecotourism.
