Dear hiker,
On May 9, Europe Day, we’re heading out on the trail for an easy–medium level hike, together with young and old, from Sadu to Tălmaciu, through the Câmpșorului Meadows and Dealul cu Pini, in the Lotru Mountains. The route passes through old meadows of Mărginimea Sibiului, once used by the Saxons who climbed here carrying their festive chests, as well as through the “Șuvara Sașilor” Natural Reserve. From above, the trail opens incredible views toward the Cindrel, Lotru, and Făgăraș Mountains. It is a day of walking at a relaxed pace, breathing deeply, and gazing into the distance toward the most beautiful horizons. A special day for us, among forests, meadows, and wide-open views, with good cheer and a small surprise at the end.
WHERE AND WHEN DO WE MEET?
Saturday, 09.05.2026, 09:00, Kaufland Șelimbăr parking lot.
We will group up in personal cars and head toward the village of Sadu.
ROUTE INFORMATION
Level: easy to medium
Approximate elevation gain: 300 – 400 m.
Approximate distance: 11 km
Hiking duration: 4 hours
Total experience duration: 5 – 7 hours.
REQUIRED EQUIPMENT
Spare T-shirts, pants, and socks, mountain boots, hiking poles (recommended), rain poncho, waterproof jacket and pants, sun cap, sunscreen, water bottle of at least 1 liter, food, whistle, headlamp
We recommend wearing thin layers, as mornings are cool and the temperature will rise during the ascent.

Guiding: 80 RON / adult participant
Children: 40 RON / participant
Those who wish can opt for a meal at the end of the hike, with homemade dishes prepared by the Rotaru family at Camping Tălmaciu. We will choose the menu together after the group is formed.

Children under 12 benefit from a 50% discount.

– The route configuration and length will be adjusted according to weather conditions and the homogeneity/heterogeneity of the group.
– The organizer (guide) reserves the right to refuse participants who are not appropriately equipped or who have inadequate physical condition.
– Tours are conducted under safe conditions and with a minimum number of participants. The organizer reserves the right to reschedule or cancel tours without prior notice if these conditions are not met.
– Ticket refunds are only provided in case the organizer (guide) cancels the hike.

The “Anii Drumeției” Program is initiated and funded by the Sibiu County Council in collaboration with the Sibiu County Tourism Association. Its main purpose is to improve hiking infrastructure in the county and promote activities specific to ecotourism.
