Dear hikers,
A hike on the Via Transilvanica, from Mediaș to Bazna, with a wild garlic foraging break and a cozy lunch at the end of the road, in Bazna, at Bassen Pension.
On Sunday, April 27th, we’ll set off from Mediaș along the Via Transilvanica, heading gently toward Bazna, a place where both your taste buds and your eyes will be delighted.
This is an easy hike, with just one uphill slope and about 7 km through the forest. We’ll take breaks to chat about the local flora and fauna—and of course, forage for wild garlic in a sustainable way.
From the forest, we’ll head straight to the table at the local gastronomic point, Bassen Pension, where we’ll enjoy soup, dessert, and—most importantly—some delicious dishes featuring wild garlic, for the full experience!
We’ll also visit their pantry, where you can snap a few pictures and, even better, stock up on goodies to bring home. (Did someone say “Bazna sausages”?)
After the meal, there’s a short walk through the Bazna resort, sprinkled with a few local legends (or facts?).
We’ll return to Mediaș by minibus or taxi.

10:00 AM, at the Via Transilvanica milestone in George Enescu Square / entrance to St. Margaret Church
There’s plenty of parking available.
You can also arrive by Regio train from Sibiu – it departs at 08:05, arrives at 09:30, and costs 10.5 lei.

Early bird price (valid until April 20th, inclusive): 170 lei/adult (includes guide, soup + dessert, return transport to Mediaș)
Child price (ages 15 – 18): 120 lei/person (includes guide, soup + dessert, return transport to Mediaș)
Standard price: 220 lei/adult (includes guide, soup + dessert, return transport to Mediaș)

The hike will take place with a minimum of 10 participants.
Both Walking Tours Mediaș and Bassen Pension are part of the Colinele Transilvaniei network.

Note:
– The route configuration and length will be adjusted according to weather conditions and the homogeneity/heterogeneity of the group.
– The organizer (guide) reserves the right to refuse participants who are not appropriately equipped or who have inadequate physical condition.
– Tours are conducted under safe conditions and with a minimum number of participants. The organizer reserves the right to reschedule or cancel tours without prior notice if these conditions are not met.
– Ticket refunds are only provided in case the organizer (guide) cancels the hike.
