Dear hikers,
We will travel from Sibiu to Gura Râului, starting our hike from the village exit towards Păltiniș.
The route begins on a stone road, then continues uphill on a cart road, first passing through a forest before opening up onto a plateau. At an intersection before Dealul Blidărei, we will turn left, and after about 20 minutes, we will reach our main destination: the Chiatra Lupoaiei rock formation.
We will take a 30-minute break for food, photos, and relaxation before heading back to the village. The return trail follows a path under high-voltage lines before continuing on a narrow track used by locals.
This hike is suitable for those with some hiking experience and children over 5 years old.
WHERE AND WHEN DO WE MEET?
We meet at 9:30 AM, in the parking lot of Cabana Valea Aurie, Sibiu.
From there, we will travel by personal cars on the Sibiu – Poplaca – Gura Râului route, where we will park at the village exit towards DJ106 Păltiniș.

Distance: 6 km
Elevation gain: 400 m
Trail difficulty: easy
Hiking duration: 4-5 hours including breaks.
REQUIRED EQUIPMENT
Hiking boots with good grip
Season-appropriate clothing: thermal layer (t-shirt or base layer), intermediate layer (hoodie or fleece), a final waterproof and wind-resistant layer; it is recommended to bring an extra t-shirt or base layer for changing.
Small hiking backpack
Sunglasses, cap, or hat
Water bottle/thermos with tea, at least 1L
Trail snacks
Trekking poles can be very helpful.
TRANSPORTATION
We can provide round-trip transport for a limited number of people. To reserve a spot, please contact us by phone at 0722-177001 after completing your registration.
Once registration is complete, the guide will create a WhatsApp group where we will organize and redistribute passengers in cars. The transportation costs will be shared among the occupants of each car, as agreed with the driver.

20 RON/child (5-14 years old)
The hike will take place with a minimum of 10 adult participants.
Children aged 5 and above can participate, provided they are accompanied by an adult. Parents are responsible for assessing the trail difficulty for their children.

– The organizer (guide) reserves the right to refuse participants who are not appropriately equipped or who have inadequate physical condition.
– Tours are conducted under safe conditions and with a minimum number of participants. The organizer reserves the right to reschedule or cancel tours without prior notice if these conditions are not met.
– Ticket refunds are only provided in case the organizer (guide) cancels the hike.
