Dear hiker,
We invite you to follow the wine road and the stories of the Saxons on a storybook-like hike, along a route full of charm and history in the heart of Transylvania. We start from Biertan, one of the most picturesque Saxon villages in Romania, watched over by its imposing fortified church – a UNESCO monument and a symbol of harmony between people and nature.
We climb gently along Via Transilvanica, following the old wine road that winds across terraced hills once covered with vineyards. As we gain altitude, spectacular panoramas of Biertan open up before us, with its medieval towers, reddish rooftops and a sense of tranquillity that seems untouched by time.
The trail takes us through meadows and gentle forests at a relaxed pace, perfect for stories and photographs. Finally, we reach Richiș, a village with a special charm, where we visit the Evangelical Church, renowned for its mysterious carvings and distinctive atmosphere.
This tour is a return to simplicity and tradition, a journey through dreamlike landscapes and living history.
We will also stop at the courtyard of Omul Verde, where we can take a break and order food or drinks.
