Dear hiker,
Enjoy one of the most beautiful alpine landscapes of the Făgăraș Mountains, with the green crowns of fir trees rising majestically above the copper-colored forests, the fresh air scented with earth and pine, and the most beautiful autumn stories just for women.
WHERE AND WHEN DO WE MEET?
The departure will be on Saturday, October 26, 2024, at 7:15 AM from Sibiu, at the Kaufland parking lot – Mall Shopping City Selimbar, heading to Valea Avrigului with personal cars.
ROUTE INFORMATION
Elevation gain: 700 m to Cabana Bârcaciu and – 1200 m to the Plateau.
Trail difficulty: medium to Cabana Bârcaciu and medium+ to the Plateau.
Hiking duration: 8 – 9 hours of walking, totaling 10 hours, including breaks, or optionally about 5 hours of walking with a stop at Cabana Barcaciu, waiting for the other women to return from the Scărișoara Plateau.
At 8:30 AM, we will begin the ascent from Cabana Poiana Neamțului (700 m) to Cabana Bârcaciu (1550 m), arriving no later than 11:30 AM.
We will then take an approximately 30-minute break to re-energize and start a gentle hike toward Scărișoara Plateau (approx. 2000 m) on a very picturesque trail with many juniper, dwarf pine, and blueberry bushes.
We will reach the plateau around 1:45 PM, where we will enjoy a break, admire the most beautiful mountain peaks in the western part of the Făgăraș Mountains, and then descend back to Cabana Bârcaciu.
At 4:00 PM, we will prepare to return along the same route. At 6:00 PM, we will be back at Cabana Poiana Neamțului, and by 7:00 PM, we will be back in Sibiu.
REQUIRED EQUIPMENT
Spare shirts and socks
High-ankle mountain boots
Small hiking backpack
Cap, rain poncho, jacket, hiking poles, and gloves (recommended)
Flashlight, whistle, water bottle (at least 1 liter), snacks for the trail

Note:
– The route configuration and length will be adjusted according to weather conditions and the homogeneity/heterogeneity of the group.
– The organizer (guide) reserves the right to refuse participants who are not appropriately equipped or who have inadequate physical condition.
– Tours are conducted under safe conditions and with a minimum number of participants. The organizer reserves the right to reschedule or cancel tours without prior notice if these conditions are not met.
– Ticket refunds are only provided in case the organizer (guide) cancels the hike.
