Dear hikers,
We will travel from Sibiu to the commune of Gura Râului and start our hike from the exit of the village toward Păltiniș.
We begin on a gravel road, then continue left, uphill, on a cart road that initially passes through a forest and then opens onto a plateau.
At an intersection, before Dealul Blidărei, we’ll turn left and after about 20 minutes reach the rock formation that is the goal of our hike. Here we’ll take a 30-minute break for lunch and photos. Afterwards, we head back to the village, first following the trail under the high voltage lines, then a trough-like path used by locals. At the end, we’ll stop at the Mountain Peony Festival in Gura Râului.
This hike is suitable for hikers with minimal experience, as well as children over 5 years old.
WHERE AND WHEN DO WE MEET?
We meet at 14:00, in the parking lot of Valea Aurie cabin.
From there, we’ll travel by personal cars on the route: Sibiu – Poplaca – Gura Râului, where we’ll park at the exit of the village towards DJ106 Păltiniș.
