Dear hiker,
We invite you to a circular hiking trip starting from the Gura Râului dam, on a trail that takes us through the Cindrel Mountains, right in the heart of nature coming back to life.
The forests are gaining color, birds are returning to their nests, and spring is making its presence known with every step.
The route climbs through Runcuri, passes by the former Fântânele Cabin, reaches Poiana Neagră, then the Piscul Vulturului Peak (1444 m), and loops back to the starting point – a complete circuit that combines spectacular landscapes, peaceful forests, and wide open meadows.
At the end, we can optionally stop for a delicious bowl of meatball soup and a glass of wine, kindly offered by the Bîrza family in Gura Râului, and visit the oldest functional oil press in Transylvania.
WHERE AND WHEN DO WE MEET?
Saturday, 10.05.2025 at 08:30 AM, in the Kaufland Ștrand Parking Lot (next to the Cibin River).
We will group up in personal cars and head to the village of Gura Râului.

Distance: 19 – 20 km
REQUIRED EQUIPMENT
Spare shirts, pants and socks, mountain boots with ankle support, rain poncho, hiking poles (recommended), gaiters (recommended if there’s snow), waterproof jacket and pants, hat, gloves, at least 1 liter of water, whistle, food, energy bars.
COSTS
Participation fee for adults – 80 lei/adult
40 lei/child
Age limit – 14 years. Exceptions may be made on a case-by-case basis.
Optional:
At the end, we can stop for a delicious bowl of meatball soup and a glass of wine or a coffee, kindly offered by the Bîrza family in Gura Râului. This is an optional treat, based on donation.

Note:
– The route configuration and length will be adjusted according to weather conditions and the homogeneity/heterogeneity of the group.
– The organizer (guide) reserves the right to refuse participants who are not appropriately equipped or who have inadequate physical condition.
– Tours are conducted under safe conditions and with a minimum number of participants. The organizer reserves the right to reschedule or cancel tours without prior notice if these conditions are not met.
– Ticket refunds are only provided in case the organizer (guide) cancels the hike.
