On day 10 of the Anii Drumeției Summer School, we conclude the series of activities with an experience that brings together adventure, movement and confidence: a practical climbing workshop in the Cisnădioara – Valea Argintului area.
Together with guide Catri Naicu, the children will discover the basic concepts and techniques of climbing in a setting adapted for beginners. We will talk about safety rules, specific equipment and the correct way to use it before moving on to the practical part.
Once we reach the area chosen for the workshop, we will put what we have learned into practice. The children will do their first exercises on the rock, discover how to use their body position and points of support and, most importantly, learn to be patient and trust their own abilities.
Climbing is not only about strength. It is about attention, coordination, balance, concentration and finding a solution for every step. That is precisely why the workshop also becomes an experience through which children can develop their confidence and ability to overcome small challenges.
After the workshop, we will return along the route followed at the beginning of the day and make our way back together to the designated pick-up point.
WHERE AND WHEN DO WE MEET?
Friday, 4 September 2026, at 10:30, at the main entrance of the ASTRA Museum.
Children will be picked up at 16:30 from the same place – the main entrance of the ASTRA Museum.

WHAT WILL WE LEARN?
- What the basic rules are for practising climbing safely;
- What specific equipment is used and how to use it correctly;
- How to prepare before starting to climb;
- How to use body position and points of support;
- The first techniques and movements on the rock;
- How to develop balance, coordination and concentration;
- How to manage our emotions and gain greater confidence in our own abilities.
REQUIRED EQUIPMENT
- Hiking boots or shoes with good grip;
- Technical trousers or long hiking trousers;
- Technical T-shirt;
- Light jacket;
- Rain poncho, if necessary;
- Water – minimum 1–1.5 litres;
- Snack or packed lunch.
The collective equipment and specific equipment required for the workshop will be provided by the guide.
COSTS
Participation in the activity is free of charge, as part of the Anii Drumeției Summer School.
Public transportation costs will be covered by the participants. The exact transportation cost will be communicated to parents after the place has been confirmed and the WhatsApp group has been created.
OTHER IMPORTANT INFORMATION
Participation is only possible with prior registration, by completing the dedicated form.
Places are limited to 12 children, and participation will be confirmed in the order of registration – the first 12 children registered.
After participation is confirmed, parents will be invited to a WhatsApp group, where they will receive all information regarding the activity, including details about transportation, equipment and schedule.

By registering their child for this activity, the parent or legal representative declares that the child is fit to participate in outdoor activities and gives consent for photographs to be taken and used for the purpose of promoting the “Anii Drumeției” Programme.
The “Anii Drumeției” Programme is initiated and funded by the Sibiu County Council, in collaboration with the Sibiu County Tourism Association, with the aim of promoting hiking, outdoor education and ecotourism-specific activities in Sibiu County.
