What if we could learn history by actually walking in its footsteps?
On the fourth day of the Anii Drumeției Summer School, we replace the classroom with the streets and trails of Rășinari and discover the past through stories, games, questions, clues and small challenges. An experience dedicated to children, where history, geography, movement and adventure come together at every step.
Together with guide Nicoleta Ocneriu, we will discover what Mărginimea Sibiului is and why this area is so important. We will talk about Rășinari and its place in the history of Transylvania, about shepherding, traditions, faith and the personalities who carried the name of the village far beyond its borders.
We will also learn to look at these places from another perspective: where we are, what landforms surround us, where the Cindrel Mountains are and how proximity to the mountains influenced the development of settlements and people’s lives over time.
The route will take us past the Emil Cioran House, the “Octavian Goga” School, the Old “Saint Parascheva” Church, the former episcopal residence and Portița Rășinariului, following part of the Best Tourism Villages route.
Depending on the time available and the children’s pace, the adventure may continue with a visit to the Rășinari Ethnographic Museum, the “Pavel Diaconu” Museum or an excursion into nature towards Coasta Boacii.
Throughout the day, the children will receive small missions and challenges through which they will discover the answers themselves. Because at the Summer School, we do not simply memorise the past. We search for it, discover it and actually walk in its footsteps.
WHERE AND WHEN DO WE MEET?
Thursday, 27 August 2026, at 09:15, at the bus stop opposite the Sibiu Municipal Cemetery.
