Dear hikers,
We invite you to a hike in the Făgăraș Mountains: Drăguș Ridge and the Răcorele Glacial Cirque.
We will follow a rarely travelled, wild and picturesque route that will take us from Valea Sâmbetei along Drăguș Ridge, then towards the Răcorele Glacial Cirque, returning via Stâna Sâmbăta to Valea Sâmbetei.
The hike is recommended for people with mountain experience and good physical fitness.
WHERE AND WHEN DO WE MEET?
Sunday, 9 August 2026
We meet at 06:00, in the HERVIS store parking lot – Shopping City Șelimbăr, from where we will travel by personal cars towards the starting point of the route.
ROUTE INFORMATION
Route: Valea Sâmbetei – Drăguș Ridge – Răcorele Glacial Cirque – Stâna Sâmbăta – Valea Sâmbetei
Elevation gain: approximately 1,500 m
Route difficulty: high
Hiking duration: approximately 9–10 hours
REQUIRED EQUIPMENT
- Mountain boots above the ankle;
- Rain and wind clothing, in several layers;
- Thermal layer;
- Rain poncho;
- Cap for sun protection;
- Thin hat or buff;
- Headlamp;
- Water bottle (minimum 2 litres);
- Sandwiches and snacks.
Recommended:
- Trekking poles.
COSTS
80 lei/person
Participation is free of charge for children up to 14 years old, if accompanied by an adult.
The maximum number of participants is 20.

Note:
– The route configuration and length will be adjusted according to weather conditions and the homogeneity/heterogeneity of the group.
– The organizer (guide) reserves the right to refuse participants who are not appropriately equipped or who have inadequate physical condition.
– Tours are conducted under safe conditions and with a minimum number of participants. The organizer reserves the right to reschedule or cancel tours without prior notice if these conditions are not met.
– Ticket refunds are only provided in case the organizer (guide) cancels the hike.

The “Anii Drumeției” Program is initiated and funded by the Sibiu County Council in collaboration with the Sibiu County Tourism Association. Its main purpose is to improve hiking infrastructure in the county and promote activities specific to ecotourism.
