Dear hiker,
We invite you on a summer hike towards one of the most beautiful alpine landscapes in the Făgăraș Mountains, with Suru Hut and Tătaru Peak as our destination.
We will follow trails through areas rich in blueberries and raspberries, among clear springs, dwarf pines and junipers, enjoying the tranquillity of the mountains, the fresh air and spectacular panoramas. Those who prefer an easier route can stop at Suru Hut, while those prepared for a more demanding effort will continue to Tătaru Peak.
WHERE AND WHEN DO WE MEET?
Departure will take place on Saturday, 8 August 2026, at 07:30, from the Kaufland – Shopping City Sibiu parking lot. We will travel by personal cars towards Izvorul Florii (Valea Avrigului), where we will regroup before starting the route.
ROUTE INFORMATION
Distance: approximately 16–17 km
Elevation gain: approximately 900 m
Route difficulty: medium–difficult, with the option of stopping at Suru Hut (medium level)
Hiking duration: approximately 7–8 hours
Total duration of the experience: approximately 10–11 hours
REQUIRED EQUIPMENT
Mountain equipment is mandatory:
- high-ankle mountain boots;
- day backpack;
- spare T-shirt;
- cap or hat;
- jacket and rain poncho;
- trekking poles (recommended);
- flashlight or headlamp;
- whistle;
- minimum 1.5 litres of water;
- snack for the route.
COSTS
80 lei/adult
40 lei/child (over 12 years old)
Children are recommended to participate only if they have good physical fitness and are accustomed to mountain hiking.
Transportation and purchases at Suru Hut are not included in the price.

Note:
– The route configuration and length will be adjusted according to weather conditions and the homogeneity/heterogeneity of the group.
– The organizer (guide) reserves the right to refuse participants who are not appropriately equipped or who have inadequate physical condition.
– Tours are conducted under safe conditions and with a minimum number of participants. The organizer reserves the right to reschedule or cancel tours without prior notice if these conditions are not met.
– Ticket refunds are only provided in case the organizer (guide) cancels the hike.

I declare under my own responsibility that, to the best of my knowledge, I am physically capable of sustained physical effort during hiking events without jeopardizing my health in any way. My participation in this event is entirely voluntary, understanding the associated risks to which I expose myself.

The “Anii Drumeției” Program is initiated and funded by the Sibiu County Council in collaboration with the Sibiu County Tourism Association. Its main purpose is to improve hiking infrastructure in the county and promote activities specific to ecotourism.
