Dear hiker,
We invite you on a journey in the footsteps of the Dacians and Romans!
We will set off on an easy hike towards the Dacian Fortress of Tilișca and through the surroundings in the heart of Mărginimea Sibiului, where we will discover the stories of the Dacian fortresses in the area, their role in defending these lands, and admire beautiful landscapes.
After the hike, we will take a leap back in time and step into the world of the Roman legions at the Castrvm Novis Festival, where history comes to life through military camps, battle demonstrations, interactive workshops and activities for all ages.
A day where nature, history and adventure come together in an unforgettable experience for both children and adults.
WHERE AND WHEN DO WE MEET?
Sunday, 02.08.2026, at 09:00, in the Kaufland parking lot (Hornbach) Sibiu.
We will group ourselves in personal cars and set off towards the village of Tilișca.
ROUTE INFORMATION
- Distance: 8–10 km
- Elevation gain: 300–350 m
- Route difficulty: easy
- Hiking duration: 2.5–3.5 hours
- Experience duration: 4–8 hours
REQUIRED EQUIPMENT
Spare T-shirts, trousers and socks, mountain boots, rain poncho, waterproof jacket and trousers, hiking poles (optional), cap, water bottle (minimum 1 litre), sandwich, whistle, sunscreen, sunglasses and insect repellent spray.
COSTS
- 80 lei/adult – participation in the hike;
- 40 lei/child – participation in the hike.
Optional:
At the Roman Festival Castrvm Novis, you will be able to purchase soft drinks, food and other products available at the organizers’ stands.

– The route configuration and length will be adjusted according to weather conditions and the homogeneity/heterogeneity of the group.
– The organizer (guide) reserves the right to refuse participants who are not appropriately equipped or who have inadequate physical condition.
– Tours are conducted under safe conditions and with a minimum number of participants. The organizer reserves the right to reschedule or cancel tours without prior notice if these conditions are not met.
– Ticket refunds are only provided in case the organizer (guide) cancels the hike.

The “Anii Drumeției” Program is initiated and funded by the Sibiu County Council in collaboration with the Sibiu County Tourism Association. Its main purpose is to improve hiking infrastructure in the county and promote activities specific to ecotourism.
