Dear hikers,
Saturday, 25 July, we invite you to a hike on Via Transilvanica, on the route between Mediaș and Bazna, a relaxing trail through the forests and hills of Târnava Mare.
We start from Mediaș and follow the Via Transilvanica route towards Bazna, enjoying approximately 7 km of forest, plenty of shade and landscapes specific to the area. Along the route, we will visit the fortified church in Bazna, and at the end we will treat ourselves to a lemonade and a cake before returning to Mediaș.

There are approximately 12 parking spaces available in the area.
ROUTE INFORMATION
Route difficulty: easy, but long
Distance: approximately 11 km (the return from Bazna is by taxi/minibus)
Elevation gain: approximately 200 m
Total hiking duration: approximately 4 hours
REQUIRED EQUIPMENT
- Hiking boots
- Water bottle (minimum 2 litres)
- Hat/cap
- Clothing suitable for the season
- Snacks for the route
Recommended:
- Trekking poles
COSTS
120 lei/person – the price includes guiding, church entrance, cake and coffee.
The return from Bazna to Mediaș will be by taxi or minibus and is paid separately (approximately 20–30 lei/person).
Children up to 14 years old participate free of charge.
The number of available places is limited to 15 participants.
The hike will take place with a minimum of 10 participants.

Walking Tours Mediaș offers tours, hikes and gastronomic experiences for those who wish to discover Mediaș and the Târnava Mare area and is a partner of Colinele Transilvaniei.

– The route configuration and length will be adjusted according to weather conditions and the homogeneity/heterogeneity of the group.
– The organizer (guide) reserves the right to refuse participants who are not appropriately equipped or who have inadequate physical condition.
– Tours are conducted under safe conditions and with a minimum number of participants. The organizer reserves the right to reschedule or cancel tours without prior notice if these conditions are not met.
– Ticket refunds are only provided in case the organizer (guide) cancels the hike.

The “Anii Drumeției” Program is initiated and funded by the Sibiu County Council in collaboration with the Sibiu County Tourism Association. Its main purpose is to improve hiking infrastructure in the county and promote activities specific to ecotourism.
