Dear hikers,
Saturday, 4 July, we invite you to discover one of the most beautiful and lesser-known routes in the Târnava Mare area: Drumul Cărămizilor.
We start from Piața Mare in Biertan, next to the fortified church, and climb behind it towards one of the most spectacular and lesser-known viewpoints over the medieval ensemble. From here, the route continues through forests and pastures, over the gentle hills of Târnava Mare, offering us beautiful panoramas over the Transylvanian landscape.
We will then reach Richiș, also known as the “village of the rich”, where the Green Man Festival takes place this weekend. After the hike ends, the return to Biertan will be by private minibus, included in the participation cost.

Distance: approximately 8 km
Elevation gain: approximately 150 m
Total hiking duration: approximately 4 hours
Minimum recommended age for children’s participation: 12 years

- Hiking boots
- Water bottle (minimum 2 litres)
- Hat/cap
- Clothing suitable for the season
- Snacks for the route

COSTS
90 lei/person – the price includes guiding and the return by minibus to Biertan.
Children up to 14 years old participate free of charge.
The number of available places is limited to 15 participants.
The hike will take place with a minimum of 10 participants.
TRANSPORTATION
Transportation is the responsibility of each participant and is arranged individually.
Those from Sibiu or Mediaș who do not have transportation are asked to contact the guide.

– The route configuration and length will be adjusted according to weather conditions and the homogeneity/heterogeneity of the group.
– The organizer (guide) reserves the right to refuse participants who are not appropriately equipped or who have inadequate physical condition.
– Tours are conducted under safe conditions and with a minimum number of participants. The organizer reserves the right to reschedule or cancel tours without prior notice if these conditions are not met.
– Ticket refunds are only provided in case the organizer (guide) cancels the hike.

The “Anii Drumeției” Program is initiated and funded by the Sibiu County Council in collaboration with the Sibiu County Tourism Association. Its main purpose is to improve hiking infrastructure in the county and promote activities specific to ecotourism.
