Dear nature and hiking lovers,
We invite you to a special hike in the Făgăraș Mountains, in a less-traveled area, where nature will delight us with spectacular landscapes, waterfalls, ancient forests and impressive alpine views.
We will start from the Bâlea Cascadă cable car station and climb through Valea Doamnei, following the course of a mountain stream that forms several picturesque waterfalls. The route will take us through one of the few virgin forests in the Romanian Carpathians, in a setting that comes back to life after the long winter of the Făgăraș Mountains.
The main destination of the day will be Lacul Doamnei, where we will take a picnic break and enjoy freshly prepared coffee with mountain water. During this period, we will also have the chance to admire the mountain rhododendron, which colours the slopes in spectacular shades of pink.
After the break, we will continue towards Curmătura Bâlii, from where we will descend towards Bâlea Lac. Here, we can make a short stop for a hot soup and a few moments of relaxation before returning through Valea Bâlii, alongside the Transfăgărășan, towards the starting point.
It is a medium-difficulty route, with a length of approximately 12 kilometres and an elevation gain of approximately 1,000 metres. The hike is recommended for people with good physical fitness and minimum experience on mountain trails.

WHERE AND WHEN DO WE MEET?
We meet at 08:30, in the parking lot next to KFC Șelimbăr, from where we will leave grouped in cars towards Bâlea Cascadă.

REQUIRED EQUIPMENT
Hiking shoes, hiking trousers suitable for the season, technical base layer made of synthetic or merino material, fleece, windproof and/or waterproof jacket, cap or hat, backpack in which you should have a spare layer, water (minimum 1.5 l) and food for the picnic.
TRANSPORTATION
We offer free transportation for up to 8 seats, on a first-come, first-served basis. The allocation and confirmation of seats in the minibus is done after purchasing the participation ticket, through a message sent to the guide.

– The route configuration and length will be adjusted according to weather conditions and the homogeneity/heterogeneity of the group.
– The organizer (guide) reserves the right to refuse participants who are not appropriately equipped or who have inadequate physical condition.
– Tours are conducted under safe conditions and with a minimum number of participants. The organizer reserves the right to reschedule or cancel tours without prior notice if these conditions are not met.
– Ticket refunds are only provided in case the organizer (guide) cancels the hike.
