Dear hikers,
We will start from the Bâlea Cascadă parking lot and first climb on the PR trail marker as far as we can below the waterfall. We return a little on the same trail and turn left on the CR trail marker towards Valea Doamnei. We climb on this trail for a very short distance, only until the intersection with the TA trail marker, which will take us above the waterfall, but not before enjoying the viewpoints along the route. After taking photos from above, we will descend to the BA trail marker, which we will use to return from halfway between Poarta Întâlnirii and Poarta Geniștilor back to Cabana Bâlea Cascadă.
The hike is suitable ONLY for people with an average or good level of physical fitness and for children aged at least 8 who have mountain experience.
WHERE AND WHEN DO WE MEET?
We meet in the morning, at 8:00, in the DECATHLON parking lot, in Shopping City Șelimbăr.
From there, we will travel by personal cars on the route: Sibiu – Bâlea Cascadă, where we will park the cars in the parking lot next to the cable car departure station.
ROUTE INFORMATION
Distance: 6.5 km
Elevation gain: 650 m
Route difficulty: medium
Hiking duration: approximately 5 hours (with a one-hour break above Bâlea Waterfall).
REQUIRED EQUIPMENT
High hiking boots, with good grip;
Clothing adapted to the season, including a waterproof outer layer; spare T-shirt or base layer;
Small day backpack, bottle with warm tea / water, minimum 1–1.5 l, sunglasses;
Snack for the break on the route
Trekking poles should not be missing. A buff, a warm hat or a sun hat are optional.
TRANSPORTATION
We can provide round-trip transportation for a limited number of people. To reserve your place, please contact us by phone at 0722-177001, after completing the registration.
After the registration process is completed, the guide will create a WhatsApp group where we will organize / redistribute ourselves in the cars of those coming by car. Their transportation costs will be covered jointly by the occupants of that car.
COSTS
Costs: 80 lei/adult, 40 lei for pupils or students.
The tour will take place with a minimum of 10 adult participants.
Children aged 8 and over may participate, provided that they have mountain hiking experience and that each of them is accompanied by an adult (parents are responsible for assessing the difficulty of the route for children).

– The route configuration and length will be adjusted according to weather conditions and the homogeneity/heterogeneity of the group.
– The organizer (guide) reserves the right to refuse participants who are not appropriately equipped or who have inadequate physical condition.
– Tours are conducted under safe conditions and with a minimum number of participants. The organizer reserves the right to reschedule or cancel tours without prior notice if these conditions are not met.
– Ticket refunds are only provided in case the organizer (guide) cancels the hike.
