Dear hiker,
Enjoy the beginning of spring with the picturesque landscapes of the Cindrel Mountains and come relive with us those beautiful moments in our lives when time seemed to stand still. We set off from the village of Fântânele, a picturesque place in Mărginimea Sibiului, and let ourselves be carried through orchards and blossoming trees, through fir forests, and among the quiet surprises of spring.
Feed your soul with a journey into the past, toward the former Fântânele Cabin and the surroundings of Salgo Fortress, on a loop hike with a stop at Godea Cabin, an authentic and welcoming place hidden in the forest, which will make you relive the small joys of childhood. It will be a day full of beautiful surprises, when nature comes to life and migratory birds arrive “home” once again.
WHERE AND WHEN DO WE MEET?
Saturday, 18.04.2024 at 08:30, from the Kaufland parking lot, Ștrand. (next to the Cibin River)
We will group up in personal cars and head toward the village of Fântânele.

Distance: 16 – 18 km
Loop route: Fântânele (Cacova) – former Fântânele Cabin Meadow – Godea Meadow – Fortress Hill (Salgo Fortress optional) – Sibiel
REQUIRED EQUIPMENT
Spare T-shirts, pants, and socks, mountain boots with high ankle support, rain poncho, hiking poles (recommended), gaiters (recommended if there is snow), waterproof jacket and pants, hat, water bottle min. 1 liter, whistle, food, bars.
COSTS
Participation in the hike – 80 RON/adult and 40 RON/child
Age limit – 10 years old. Exceptions may be made on a case-by-case basis.
Optional
Surprise lunch at Godea Cabin, “the taste of countryside childhood” – based on a suggested donation.

30 RON/child under 12.

– The route configuration and length will be adjusted according to weather conditions and the homogeneity/heterogeneity of the group.
– The organizer (guide) reserves the right to refuse participants who are not appropriately equipped or who have inadequate physical condition.
– Tours are conducted under safe conditions and with a minimum number of participants. The organizer reserves the right to reschedule or cancel tours without prior notice if these conditions are not met.
– Ticket refunds are only provided in case the organizer (guide) cancels the hike.

The “Anii Drumeției” Program is initiated and funded by the Sibiu County Council in collaboration with the Sibiu County Tourism Association. Its main purpose is to improve hiking infrastructure in the county and promote activities specific to ecotourism.
