Dear hikers,
Our spring hike will start from the village of Rășinari, where we will arrive by personal cars, driving along the forest road that follows Valea Caselor.
After parking the cars near the end of the valley, we will begin walking on the path that climbs toward the mountain ridge. After about half an hour of steady ascent, we enter an unmarked path that crosses hay meadows in the middle of which stand beautiful wooden huts. The trail leads us through small patches of forest followed by open meadows, eventually reaching the main ridge of the mountain. From here we head left, following the ridge trail marked with a red stripe, and after about half an hour we reach the Rosengarten shelter. We descend toward a spring, and after a short climb we arrive in a meadow full of snowdrops and crocuses. From this area we will continue climbing toward Măgura Peak, among crocuses and snowdrops that cover the entire mountain slope all the way to the summit. On the way back, we will follow a different path that leads us through ancient beech forests and meadows dotted with wooden huts back to the place where we left our cars in the morning.
During the hike we will talk about the pastoral traditions of the inhabitants of Rășinari, who have huts and grazing areas in this high region of Mărginimea Sibiului. We will also speak about the nearest protected area to our location, the Natura 2000 Frumoasa site, designated to protect rare forest bird species, forest habitats, mountain meadows, and many animal species, including large carnivores.
The impressive landscapes will accompany us throughout the entire route, making this hike truly unmissable!

Meeting point: the parking lot of Jacobs restaurant, on the road toward Rășinari (next to Sibiu Zoo).

Distance: 8–10 km
Elevation gain: 700 meters
Trail difficulty: medium
Hike duration: approximately 6 hours.
Tourists who wish to participate but cannot travel to Rășinari by personal car can call the guide (Mihai Proca – 0720003332) to check if there are available seats in other participants’ cars.
The hike is of medium difficulty, suitable for people with good physical condition as well as children aged 8 and above!

Water/tea bottle, minimum 1 l.;
Snack for a break halfway along the route;
Clothing suitable for the season;
Mountain boots
COSTS
80 RON/adult participant.
20 RON – children/youth between 8 and 18 years old
The hike will take place with a minimum of 10 paying adult participants. Children will participate accompanied by an adult.

– The route configuration and length will be adjusted according to weather conditions and the homogeneity/heterogeneity of the group.
– The organizer (guide) reserves the right to refuse participants who are not appropriately equipped or who have inadequate physical condition.
– Tours are conducted under safe conditions and with a minimum number of participants. The organizer reserves the right to reschedule or cancel tours without prior notice if these conditions are not met.
– Ticket refunds are only provided in case the organizer (guide) cancels the hike.
