Dear hikers,
Our autumn hike will start from the village of Rășinari, which we will reach using our personal cars. After a short presentation of the day’s program by the guide, we will drive to Rășinari and park the cars in the central area of the village.
We will begin walking along the paved road that follows the winding village streets, then start ascending the Valea Caselor, following for a while the blue stripe trail marking. After about half an hour, we leave the contour road that winds along the mountainside and enter an unmarked pastoral path crossing hayfields dotted with beautiful wooden shepherd huts. The path leads us through small forest patches followed by meadows, eventually reaching Nea Ion’s hut. Here we will take a longer break and light a small fire, where we will prepare delicious food.
From Nea Ion’s hut, we continue uphill towards Fraga Peak, from where we will enjoy a wonderful view over all the ridges surrounding Rășinari. We then descend first across a wide pasture and later through an oak and pine forest until we reach Coasta Boacii, offering impressive views over the village of Rășinari. A steady descent brings us back into the village, where we follow the local streets back to the center of Rășinari.
During the hike, we will talk about the pastoral traditions of the people of Rășinari, who have shepherd huts and grazing areas in this high region of Mărginimea Sibiului. We will also discuss the closest protected area to our location, the Natura 2000 Frumoasa site, designated for the protection of rare forest bird species, forest habitats, mountain meadows, and many animal species, including large carnivores.
Impressive landscapes accompany us throughout the entire route, making this hike a must-do experience.
Hikers who wish to join but do not have the possibility to travel to Rășinari by personal car can contact the guide (Mihai Proca – 0720003332) to check for available seats in other participants’ cars.
The hike is of medium difficulty, suitable for people of all ages as well as children aged 8 and above with a moderate level of physical fitness.

REQUIRED EQUIPMENT
Water bottle with water or tea, minimum 1 l;
Snack for a break halfway through the route;
Season-appropriate clothing, including gaiters;
Hiking boots;
Trekking poles (recommended)
COSTS
– 80 lei per adult participant.
– 20 lei for children/young people between 6 and 18 years
The hike will take place with a minimum of 6 paying adult participants.
Children must be accompanied by an adult.

– The organizer (guide) reserves the right to refuse participants who are not appropriately equipped or who have inadequate physical condition.
– Tours are conducted under safe conditions and with a minimum number of participants. The organizer reserves the right to reschedule or cancel tours without prior notice if these conditions are not met.
– Ticket refunds are only provided in case the organizer (guide) cancels the hike.
