Dear hikers,
We will start from the chairlift in Păltiniș (where we will park the cars) and climb alongside the ski slope, on the path running parallel to it, following the TA trail until we reach the upper station at the top of the chairlift slope.
We then continue on the forest road with a gentle ascent and, in about 10 minutes, reach the relay station, which we bypass on the right side and stop on Oncești Peak (1725 m). We continue the route through the forest, descending towards Grădina Oncești, Cantonul Muncel, and from here towards Poiana Găujoara and then back to Păltiniș.
The hike is suitable for people with a minimum level of physical fitness and for children aged at least 8 years who have previous hiking experience.
WHERE AND WHEN DO WE MEET?
We meet at 16:30 in the parking lot of Pensiunea Dumbrava Sibiului, next to the Hilton Hotel (https://maps.app.goo.gl/zwSs21RZcog6kcnr6).
From there we will travel with personal cars on the route: Sibiu – Păltiniș, where we will park at the chairlift around 17:30.
ROUTE INFORMATION
Distance: 9.5 km
Elevation gain: 450 m
Trail difficulty: medium
Hike duration: approximately 4-5 hours (including necessary breaks along the route).
REQUIRED EQUIPMENT
High hiking boots with good grip; boots must also be suitable for snow.
Clothing adapted to the season: a base layer, a fleece, and a final waterproof layer; spare T-shirt or base layer.
Small hiking backpack. Gaiters, hat, and gloves. If you have them, snowshoes can be useful.
Thermos with tea plus a water bottle, minimum 1 liter of liquids.
Snack for a break halfway along the route.
Trekking poles can be very helpful.
It is mandatory to have a headlamp and spare batteries!
TRANSPORTATION
We can provide round-trip transport for a limited number of participants. To reserve a seat, please contact us by phone at 0722-177001 after completing registration.
After registration is completed, the guide will create a WhatsApp group where we will organize and redistribute participants into cars. Transport costs will be shared among the occupants of each car (approximate cost: 20 lei per person).
COSTS
80 lei per adult or child over 14 years, 50 lei per pupil or student, 20 lei per child between 8 and 14 years.
The tour will take place with a minimum of 8 adult participants.
Children aged 8 and over may participate provided they are accompanied by an adult (parents are responsible for assessing the difficulty of the route for children).

– The route configuration and length will be adjusted according to weather conditions and the homogeneity/heterogeneity of the group.
– The organizer (guide) reserves the right to refuse participants who are not appropriately equipped or who have inadequate physical condition.
– Tours are conducted under safe conditions and with a minimum number of participants. The organizer reserves the right to reschedule or cancel tours without prior notice if these conditions are not met.
– Ticket refunds are only provided in case the organizer (guide) cancels the hike.
