Dear hikers,
We will start near the Fortified Church of Hosman, where we will find a place to leave the cars, and then we will head south toward the village of Glâmboaca, located on the banks of the Olt River. Once we reach the top of the hill, we will admire the majestic panorama of the Făgăraș Mountains, and after a short snack break, we will continue a bit east toward the village of Fofeldea, then turn north to return, on a forest trail, to Hosman.
For those who bravely make it to the end, we’ll have a local culinary surprise — a traditional Saxon hencleș to sweeten the end of the hike.
The hike is suitable for people with a minimum level of physical fitness and for children.
WHERE AND WHEN DO WE MEET?
We will meet on Sunday, 19 Oct. 2025, at 9:00, in the parking lot of Hobby Mobilă store, Ștefan cel Mare Street no. 195, at the exit toward Agnita.
From there, we will drive with personal cars on the route: Sibiu – Hosman, and park on the street with the Fortified Church. At the end of the hike, we will recover the cars from the same place.
ROUTE INFORMATION
Distance: 9 km
Elevation gain: 400 m
Trail difficulty: medium
Hike duration: approx. 4–4.5 hours (including a 20–30 min. meal break). With transfer from Sibiu and back, 10 hours.
REQUIRED EQUIPMENT
Hiking boots or shoes with a good grip;
Season-appropriate clothing, including a waterproof outer layer;
Small hiking backpack;
Spare T-shirt;
Cap/hat, sunglasses;
Water bottle, minimum 1 L;
Snack for a break halfway through the trail (we recommend a sandwich, pastry, and something sweet – chocolate or an energy bar).
Trekking poles can be helpful.
TRANSPORTATION
We can provide round-trip transport for a limited number of people. To reserve a place, please contact us by phone at 0722-177001 after registration.
After completing the registration process, the guide will create a WhatsApp group to organize and redistribute participants into cars. The transport costs will be shared among the car’s occupants, as agreed with the driver.
COSTS
80 lei/adult; 40 lei/student or pupil; 20 lei/child under 8 years old.
The hike will take place with a minimum of 10 adult participants.
Children aged 5 and up can participate, provided they are accompanied by an adult (parents are responsible for assessing the trail’s difficulty for their children).

– The route configuration and length will be adjusted according to weather conditions and the homogeneity/heterogeneity of the group.
– The organizer (guide) reserves the right to refuse participants who are not appropriately equipped or who have inadequate physical condition.
– Tours are conducted under safe conditions and with a minimum number of participants. The organizer reserves the right to reschedule or cancel tours without prior notice if these conditions are not met.
– Ticket refunds are only provided in case the organizer (guide) cancels the hike.
