Dear hikers,
We will leave Sibiu by car at 17:30 and head together to Poiana Neamțului. We will park in a suitable place and start the climb to Bărcaciu Hut, aiming to arrive no later than 21:15 to set up tents or take our reserved places.
We will spend the night at the hut, in tents, or in the dormitory (depending on choice). The next day, after breakfast, we will start the ascent to Scara Peak with light backpacks, following the red cross trail. From Scara Peak we descend to Puha Saddle, then towards Negoiu Hut on the blue stripe trail. Before crossing the Șerbota stream, we will turn left on the red dot trail back to Bărcaciu Hut. Here we will stop for a meal and to pick up the luggage left in the morning, then descend towards Poiana Neamțului Hut.
WHERE AND WHEN DO WE MEET?
We will meet at 17:30, in the DECATHLON parking lot, Shopping City Șelimbăr.
From there we will drive on the route: Sibiu – Avrig – Poiana Neamțului, where we will park near the hut.
At the end of the hike, the next day, we will pick up the cars and return to Sibiu on the same route.

Distance: 20.8 km
Elevation gain: +975 m, loss: -1775 m
Difficulty: medium/hard
Duration: about 7.5 h + 2.5 h (including break at Bărcaciu Hut to recover luggage).
REQUIRED EQUIPMENT
High hiking boots with good grip, hiking backpack – mandatory
Layered clothing suitable for the season, including waterproof top layer; spare shirt or base layer; long pants
Headlamp with spare batteries
Tent, sleeping pad (if needed), and sleeping bag
Small hiking backpack (optional), water bottle min. 1.5–2 l
Snacks for meal breaks on the trail
Trekking poles highly recommended
TRANSPORTATION
Limited transport can be provided. To reserve a place, please call 0722-177001 after registration.
After registration, the guide will create a WhatsApp group for carpooling. Transport costs will be shared among car occupants, by agreement with the driver.
COSTS
150 lei/adult, 100 lei student
Accommodation at Bărcaciu Hut: tent – 10 lei, in hut – depending on availability
The hike will take place with minimum 5 and maximum 12 participants.
Children from 8 years old can participate, provided each is accompanied by an adult (parents are responsible for assessing difficulty for their children).

Note:
– The route configuration and length will be adjusted according to weather conditions and the homogeneity/heterogeneity of the group.
– The organizer (guide) reserves the right to refuse participants who are not appropriately equipped or who have inadequate physical condition.
– Tours are conducted under safe conditions and with a minimum number of participants. The organizer reserves the right to reschedule or cancel tours without prior notice if these conditions are not met.
– Ticket refunds are only provided in case the organizer (guide) cancels the hike.

The “Anii Drumeției” Program is initiated and funded by the Sibiu County Council in collaboration with the Sibiu County Tourism Association. Its main purpose is to improve hiking infrastructure in the county and promote activities specific to ecotourism.
