Dear hikers,
We know how much you loved our last hike in this location, and we’re making the most of these long summer evenings to bring you another unforgettable experience – a weekday hike to the most beautiful sunset spot in the Făgăraș Mountains: Vârful Netedu. What better way to end a summer day than cooling off on the ridges, waiting for the sunset?
Here’s how the tour will unfold:
We’ll start from Bâlea Lake Hut and follow the trail leading to Șaua Netedu, where we’ll wait eagerly for the sunset. While admiring the view, we’ll enjoy some tea and a small homemade snack. As the sun gently sets behind the mountain crests, you’ll have time for photos (and we promise, they’ll be the most stunning sunset pictures you’ve ever taken!). Then we’ll prep our headlamps and begin our return to Bâlea Lake. With a bit of luck, we’ll catch the first stars, and maybe even some shooting stars.
Warm clothing is a must for any hike in the Făgăraș Mountains, especially after sunset when temperatures drop significantly.
This is a medium-difficulty hike, also suitable for people with less mountain experience.
WHERE AND WHEN DO WE MEET?
We meet at 17:00 in the Hervis parking lot. From there, we’ll drive in personal cars via Sibiu – Cârțișoara – Bâlea Lake, aiming to park around 18:30.
If you don’t have a car, we’ll try to arrange a ride for you – just let us know. A fee per passenger will be paid directly to the driver.

Hike duration: approx. 2.5 hours (plus 3 hours transport)

The hike takes place with a minimum of 6 participants.
Children over 8 are welcome. Kids under 14 get a discounted rate, but must be accompanied by an adult. Parents are responsible for assessing the trail difficulty for their child.

– The route configuration and length will be adjusted according to weather conditions and the homogeneity/heterogeneity of the group.
– The organizer (guide) reserves the right to refuse participants who are not appropriately equipped or who have inadequate physical condition.
– Tours are conducted under safe conditions and with a minimum number of participants. The organizer reserves the right to reschedule or cancel tours without prior notice if these conditions are not met.
– Ticket refunds are only provided in case the organizer (guide) cancels the hike.
