Dear hikers,
We will park the cars a few hundred meters below the trail entrance and ascend on the red triangle (TR) trail toward Valea Viștei refuge. After a short hydration break, we exit the forest and continue along the valley, then ascend first to the left and then to the right, up the great north wall of the Făgăraș, to reach the ridge. From there, it’s not far to the Viștea and Moldoveanu peaks—about 45 minutes and then another 20 minutes.
We will enjoy the fact that, since it’s Friday, the trail won’t have the crowds typical of weekends, and we won’t have to wait up to 2 hours in line to take pictures on the summit.
This hike is suitable ONLY for people in very good physical condition!
WHERE AND WHEN DO WE MEET?
We meet in the morning, at 6:30 AM, in the DECATHLON parking lot at Shopping City Șelimbăr.
From there, we will travel by personal cars on the route: Sibiu – Victoria – Valea Viștei, where we will park before the entrance to the trail marked TR.
ROUTE INFORMATION
Distance: 19 km
Elevation gain: 1825 m
Trail difficulty: hard
Hiking duration: approximately 10–12 hours (with short breaks on the trail, a 30-minute break on Moldoveanu peak, and a 10-minute break on Viștea peak)
REQUIRED EQUIPMENT
High-ankle hiking boots with good grip
Season-appropriate clothing, including a waterproof outer layer; spare base layer or shirt
Small daypack, thermos with hot tea/water (min. 1L), sunglasses
Food for trail breaks
Trekking poles are a must. A buff/hat and gaiters are optional.
TRANSPORTATION
We can provide round-trip transport for a limited number of people. To reserve your spot, please call 0722-177001 after registration.
Once registration is complete, the guide will create a WhatsApp group to organize and redistribute participants into cars. Transport costs will be shared among each car’s occupants, as agreed with the driver.

– The route configuration and length will be adjusted according to weather conditions and the homogeneity/heterogeneity of the group.
– The organizer (guide) reserves the right to refuse participants who are not appropriately equipped or who have inadequate physical condition.
– Tours are conducted under safe conditions and with a minimum number of participants. The organizer reserves the right to reschedule or cancel tours without prior notice if these conditions are not met.
– Ticket refunds are only provided in case the organizer (guide) cancels the hike.
