Dear hiker,
We invite you to a hike through spectacular forests and hills, along the Via Transilvanica trail, in the heart of the Transylvanian Highlands.
We’ll arrive in Richiș, where the “Green Man” Medieval Festival awaits – knights, ladies, music, and a medieval atmosphere.
We’ll visit the local producers’ fair, enjoy local gastronomy, and, if the group wishes, explore the fortified churches of Richiș and Biertan.
A day of nature, tradition, and authentic experiences – not to be missed!
WHERE AND WHEN DO WE MEET?
Departure will be Saturday, 05.07.2025 at 8:30 AM from the Hornbach parking lot, with personal cars toward Biertan.
ROUTE INFORMATION
Distance: 6 – 12 km. The trail can be adjusted according to the group’s preferences.
Elevation gain: approx. 200 m
Trail difficulty: easy
Hiking duration: 3 – 5 hours
Total experience duration: 8 – 9 hours
REQUIRED EQUIPMENT
mandatory: change of t-shirts, pants, and socks, hiking boots, rain poncho, hiking poles (recommended), sun cap, sunscreen, insect spray, whistle, water bottle min 1.5 liters, food, energy bars, magnesium
COSTS
80 RON participation in the hike.
Optional: fortified church visits – Biertan: 20 RON/person, Richiș: 15 RON/person
Transport and consumption are paid separately and independently.

Note:
– The route configuration and length will be adjusted according to weather conditions and the homogeneity/heterogeneity of the group.
– The organizer (guide) reserves the right to refuse participants who are not appropriately equipped or who have inadequate physical condition.
– Tours are conducted under safe conditions and with a minimum number of participants. The organizer reserves the right to reschedule or cancel tours without prior notice if these conditions are not met.
– Ticket refunds are only provided in case the organizer (guide) cancels the hike.

The “Anii Drumeției” Program is initiated and funded by the Sibiu County Council in collaboration with the Sibiu County Tourism Association. Its main purpose is to improve hiking infrastructure in the county and promote activities specific to ecotourism.
