Dear hiker,
We begin our journey with the Mocănița from the village of Hosman, which gently takes us through the rolling landscapes of the Hârtibaciului Valley. The gentle hills and wide meadows create the perfect setting for a relaxing experience.
After the train ride, we continue with an easy hike on an accessible trail, where we can admire the peace and beauty of the place. At the end, we stop in the garden of the Hosman Fortified Church, where we will enjoy a spectacular sunset, with a wonderful view of the valley.
Optionally, those who wish can enjoy a Saxon snack and/or visit the interior of the church, discovering the history and charm of this traditional place.
WHERE AND WHEN DO WE MEET?
Sunday, March 30, 2025, at 13:45, Ștefan cel Mare Street, Trei Stejari, next to the Profi store.
We will gather in our personal cars and head to the village of Hosman.
ROUTE INFORMATION
Level: easy
Elevation gain: 100 – 200 m
Hike duration: 3-4 hours
Total experience duration: 6 hours
Distance: 10 km. This will be determined on-site based on the participants’ level and can be easily adjusted.
We will depart around 14:00 for Hosman, from where we will take the Mocănița to Cornățel. For those who wish to join only the hike, they can wait in Hosman until the group returns or come directly to Hosman in front of the fortified church at 15:30 just for the hike.
We will leave some cars in Cornățel and others in Hosman so that we can return to the starting point with the cars. The distance between the two villages is 7 km, covered in about 6 minutes by car and 40 minutes by Mocănița.
After returning to Hosman, we will begin the hike around 15:30 – 15:45 for approximately 3-4 hours, followed by a superb sunset in the garden of the Hosman Fortified Church.
REQUIRED EQUIPMENT
T-shirts, pants, and socks to change, hiking boots, rain poncho, waterproof jacket and pants, water bottle (min 1 liter), food, whistle, flashlight. It is best to dress in layers, as it is warmer at noon and cooler in the evening.
COSTS
Guiding: 70 lei/adult and 35 lei/child for the hike.
Optional: Mocănița ride:

Optional: Visit to the Hosman Fortified Church:

Through this program, we aim to support and promote the local community, authentic values, and the cultural heritage of the Hârtibaciului Valley. – The route configuration and length will be adjusted according to weather conditions and the homogeneity/heterogeneity of the group.
– The organizer (guide) reserves the right to refuse participants who are not appropriately equipped or who have inadequate physical condition.
– Tours are conducted under safe conditions and with a minimum number of participants. The organizer reserves the right to reschedule or cancel tours without prior notice if these conditions are not met.
– Ticket refunds are only provided in case the organizer (guide) cancels the hike.
