Dear hikers,
Our autumn hike will start from the village of Rășinari, where we will arrive by personal cars. We will meet in the morning at 9:30 AM in the parking lot of Jacobs restaurant, at the exit towards Rășinari (near Sibiu Zoo). After a short presentation of the day’s program, we will drive to Rășinari, where we will park in the central area of the village.
We will begin on foot along the paved road that follows the winding alleys of the village, then start ascending through Valea Caselor, following the blue stripe tourist marking for a while. After about half an hour, we will leave the contour road that winds along the mountain slope. We will enter an unmarked pastoral trail that crosses hay meadows, in the middle of which are beautiful wooden huts. The path leads us through small forested patches followed by meadows, eventually reaching Nea Ion’s hut. Here, we will take a longer break and light a fire with twigs to prepare delicious food.
From Nea Ion’s hut, we will climb towards Fraga Peak, from where we will have an amazing panoramic view of all the ridges surrounding Rășinari. We will descend first through a wide pasture, then through an oak and pine forest until we reach Coasta Boacii, offering impressive views of Rășinari village. We will continue descending steadily until we reach the village, where we will follow the alleys back to the center of Rășinari.
During the hike, we will discuss the pastoral traditions of the inhabitants of Rășinari, who have huts and grazing areas in this high-altitude part of Mărginimea Sibiului. We will also talk about the closest protected area to our location, the Natura 2000 Frumoasa site, designated for the protection of rare forest bird species, forest habitats, mountain pastures, and many animal species, including large carnivores.
The breathtaking landscapes will accompany us throughout the route, making this tour unmissable!

Tourists who wish to participate but do not have transportation to Rășinari can contact the tour guide (Mihai Proca – 0720003332) to check if there are available seats in the cars of other participants.
The tour has a medium difficulty level, suitable for people of all ages as well as children aged 8 and above with moderate physical fitness!

The tour will take place with a minimum of 6 paying adult participants!
Children must be accompanied by an adult!

– The organizer (guide) reserves the right to refuse participants who are not appropriately equipped or who have inadequate physical condition.
– Tours are conducted under safe conditions and with a minimum number of participants. The organizer reserves the right to reschedule or cancel tours without prior notice if these conditions are not met.
– Ticket refunds are only provided in case the organizer (guide) cancels the hike.
