Dear hiker,
Join us in Mărginimea Sibiului for a magical winter hike, where we’ll decorate the Christmas tree as our grandparents once did and enjoy a day filled with the holiday spirit. Bring your loved ones and relish the joys of caroling, donuts, tea, and mulled wine lovingly prepared by our hosts.
At the end of the hike, we’ll visit Maria George’s personal museum, where we’ll learn about the age-old tradition of oil pressing at the oldest functional oil press in Transylvania, hosted by the Birza family.
WHERE AND WHEN DO WE MEET?
Departure on Sunday, December 22, 2023, at 9:00 AM from Sibiu Main Train Station. We’ll travel together to Gura Râului in personal cars and regroup upon arrival.

REQUIRED EQUIPMENT
Mountain gear is mandatory:
Spare shirts and socks
High-ankle hiking boots
Raincoat or waterproof jacket
Hiking poles
Hat and gloves (recommended)

Whistle
Water bottle (minimum 1 liter)
Snacks for the trail
Gaiters (recommended if there’s snow)
COSTS
70 RON per adult and 30 RON per child for participation in the hike

– The route configuration and length will be adjusted according to weather conditions and the homogeneity/heterogeneity of the group.
– The organizer (guide) reserves the right to refuse participants who are not appropriately equipped or who have inadequate physical condition.
– Tours are conducted under safe conditions and with a minimum number of participants. The organizer reserves the right to reschedule or cancel tours without prior notice if these conditions are not met.
– Ticket refunds are only provided in case the organizer (guide) cancels the hike.

The “Anii Drumeției” Program is initiated and funded by the Sibiu County Council in collaboration with the Sibiu County Tourism Association. Its main purpose is to improve hiking infrastructure in the county and promote activities specific to ecotourism.
