Dear hikers and nature lovers,
This December, we invite you to join us as we prepare our repertoire of carols in the heart of nature, hiking the trails of the Cindrel Mountains.
Our route starts in Păltiniș, at the base of the Oncești ski slope, and follows the trail through Poiana Găujoara, Vf. Bătrâna (1911m), Cantonul Muncel, and returns via the Oncești Chairlift. This hike is perfect for anyone who enjoys spending time outdoors with family and friends, young or old, and is also pet-friendly.
Expect breathtaking autumn-winter landscapes infused with the holiday spirit of December, surprises specially prepared for hikers, and plenty of joy and laughter to accompany us on the trail.
WHERE AND WHEN DO WE MEET?
Option 1: At 9:00 AM, in the parking lot at Zoo Sibiu (in front of Jacob Grillhouse Restaurant, Strada Calea Dumbrăvii, NR 142A, Zoo Main Entrance). From there, we will carpool to Păltiniș, near the base of the Oncești ski slope and the chairlift station.
Option 2: At 9:50 AM, directly at the base of the Oncești ski slope, for those traveling independently.
If you need transportation, please inform the guide in advance.
For those without personal transport, we recommend taking Tursib bus no. 22, departing at 7:00 AM from Sibiu Train Station. On the return, you’ll likely find new friends during the hike who can give you a lift back to Sibiu.

Distance: 13 km
Trail difficulty: Easy to moderate
Elevation gain/loss: +507m / -511m
Duration: Approximately 5–6 hours (including short breaks)
ECHIPAMENT NECESAR
Hiking boots with good grip, appropriate for the season
Seasonal clothing
Thermal layer and spare socks
Buff/hat (depending on the weather)
Sunglasses
Gloves
Water bottle (1L) or tea in a thermos
Snacks (e.g., a sandwich, fruit, or an energy bar)

COSTS
70 RON per person
Free for children under 10, provided they are accompanied by an adult who will evaluate the trail’s difficulty for them.
The hike will take place with a minimum of 5 participants and a maximum of 20 participants.

Note:
– The route configuration and length will be adjusted according to weather conditions and the homogeneity/heterogeneity of the group.
– The organizer (guide) reserves the right to refuse participants who are not appropriately equipped or who have inadequate physical condition.
– Tours are conducted under safe conditions and with a minimum number of participants. The organizer reserves the right to reschedule or cancel tours without prior notice if these conditions are not met.
– Ticket refunds are only provided in case the organizer (guide) cancels the hike.

The “Anii Drumeției” Program is initiated and funded by the Sibiu County Council in collaboration with the Sibiu County Tourism Association. Its main purpose is to improve hiking infrastructure in the county and promote activities specific to ecotourism.
